Dear Families,
We are thrilled to announce this year’s 8/9th Rite of Passage Trip — an unforgettable Pacific Northwest adventure that connects ecology, Native history, and activism. This journey is a core part of our middle school experience, designed to help students deepen their sense of purpose, community, and curiosity about the world.
Trip Overview:
Students will travel through Seattle, Mount Rainier, the San Juan Islands, and Portland, exploring how nature, culture, and community are interconnected. Highlights include:
- Pike Place Market & Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle
- Hiking in Mount Rainier National Park (Paradise Trail)
- Ferry ride and orca studies in the San Juan Islands
- Visiting Bonneville Dam and learning about Native salmon rights
- Time in Portland exploring activism, literature, and sustainability
Students will stay in hotels and travel in a comfortable coach bus throughout the trip. The total trip cost is $1,895 per student, including airfare, transportation, lodging, and activities.
To help make this experience possible for all students, we will be organizing fundraisers throughout the year, and we would love to collaborate with you for any fundraising ideas!
This trip is a collaborative effort by the entire Middle School Team, and we are committed to creating a meaningful and safe experience that celebrates growth, responsibility, and connection to the land and its stories.
Thank you for your partnership and enthusiasm as we begin preparing for this transformative journey!
